“非真实时态” （Unreal Time）

- wish/if only 谈现在用过去式、谈过去用过去完成式；⚠️ 但不能用来表达对未来的愿望，未来的愿望要换成 hope。
- it's (high) time 表示「早该做的事」、as if/as though 表示情况的表象、would rather 在主语不同时也用非真实时态，四种结构各自搭配的时态要分清楚。

什么是「非真实时态」
📌 想象的、希望的、或不太可能的情况，都算「非真实（unreal）」时间。谈这类情况时，常常把动词时态往后倒退一格——现在变成过去、过去变成过去完成——这种时态转换暗示了跟现实有「距离」。
wish 和 if only
两者都用来表达「希望现在或过去有所不同」，if only 语气通常比 wish 更强烈。
谈现在： wish/if only + 过去式，表达希望现在的情况不同：
- I wish I knew more people my own age.
- If only drivers paid more attention to cyclists.
💡 用 would 表示希望别人/别的事情改变，常带有不耐烦的语气：
- I wish people wouldn't eat noisily at the cinema.
谈过去： wish/if only + 过去完成式，表达希望过去有所不同：
- I wish I hadn't stayed out so late last night. I'm really tired today.
- If only we'd known this company was going to close, we wouldn't have recommended them.
谈未来： ⚠️ wish 不用来表达对未来事件的愿望：
- ❌ I wish you pass the exam. → ✅ I hope you pass the exam.
- 📌 wish 讲的是「非真实时间」，而未来的愿望不算这一类，要用 hope。
it's (high) time
表示「早就该做某事了，现在该做了」，结构：it's (high) time + 主语 + 过去式动词：
- It's high time we went to bed.
- It's time we took responsibility for our planet.
as if / as though
用来描述某个情况「看起来/似乎」怎样，as if 比 as though 更常见：
- Some people behave as if their actions had no consequences.
- It was as though she hadn't heard me.
📌 后面接非真实时态时，暗示说话者不认为这句话是真的：It was as though she hadn't heard me.（暗示：其实她可能听到了，只是表现得像没听到）
would rather
表达对某个行为的偏好：
- I'd rather buy less, but better quality.
📌 当两个子句主语不同时，常用非真实时态：
- They would rather we didn't wait too long before letting them know our decision.
- I'd rather you didn't eat dinner on the new sofa.

常见错误
❌ I wish you pass the exam. ✅ I hope you pass the exam.
📌 wish 不用来表达对未来的愿望，这种情况要用 hope。
❌ It's time we go to bed.（用了现在式而非过去式） ✅ It's time we went to bed.
📌 it's (high) time 后面一定接过去式动词，即使讲的是现在/未来该做的事。
